Commissions

Commissioning a painting is a meaningful way to honour the people, stories, and places that matter most to you. Each artwork I create is made exclusively for you and tailored to your style, vision, and space.

What You Can Commission

I create bespoke portraits, figurative pieces, and paintings inspired by cherished moments, loved ones, or significant locations. You’re free to choose the size, medium, and overall feel of the artwork, ensuring the final piece is truly unique.

How the Process Works

Your commission begins with an initial consultation, where we discuss the story behind your artwork as well as practical details such as size, budget, framing, shipping, and deadlines.
You’re welcome to provide reference photographs, or I can take my own. For portrait commissions, sittings can be arranged to enrich the final piece, though they are entirely optional.

After our consultation, I’ll provide an estimated timeline based on the scale and complexity of the painting, and I’ll always do my best to accommodate any important deadlines.

Pricing & Deposit

A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to begin the commission, with the remaining balance due upon completion. Pricing varies depending on size and medium.

Tuition

I offer private art tuition from my studio within The Nicole Porter Gallery, as well as from my home studio in Inverurie. With over fifteen years of Grade-A results from my students—and a Gold Award from the International Alliance of Young Artists recognising my teaching—I bring a high level of experience and commitment to every session. I also teach as an Engage Tutor at Gray’s School of Art.

I’m qualified to support young artists working towards their Arts Award, a nationally recognised accreditation by Trinity College London that helps students develop their creativity, confidence, and leadership skills.

About the Sessions

Each consultation is tailored to the needs of the individual artist, regardless of age or ability. You can book a single session for focused support, or choose an ongoing programme designed to build skills through a structured series of exercises.

Areas of Support Include:

  • Art school portfolio preparation

  • Assistance with SQA, International Baccalaureate, HNC, HND, and degree-level qualifications

  • Drawing and painting instruction

  • Critiques and guidance on developing your artistic voice

  • History of art

  • Painting preparation (canvas stretching, priming, materials, photographing artwork, etc.)

  • Studio design and layout advice (from equipment and lighting to sourcing suppliers)

If you’d like to discuss your goals or arrange a session, please feel free to get in touch.

Limited Edition Giclée Prints

I offer limited edition giclée prints of my work, created using the Epson Stylus Pro 4800 fine art digital printer with Ultrachrome K3 pigment inks. This state-of-the-art process ensures a lightfast guarantee of 75 years, so your print will remain vibrant for generations.

Prints are available on Hahnemühle 308g 100% cotton rag fine art paper, which has a velvety soft matte surface and reproduces every detail with exceptional colour intensity, or on high-quality canvas for a more textured finish.

Giclée prints are a wonderful option if you love an image of a painting but the original has already sold, allowing you to enjoy the artwork in your own home.

If you are interested in purchasing a print, please feel free to get in touch or click here to view and buy online.

Fridge 2 Frame Artworks

With my Fridge 2 Frame service, I transform children’s drawings into gallery-worthy artworks, adding depth, emotion, and the detail of a professional portrait. I take the imagination your child has captured on paper and reinterpret it as a timeless piece that celebrates both their creativity and their unique perspective on the world.

The process is simple: you send me your child’s drawings, doodles, or paintings along with your favourite photos of them, and I carefully reimagine these pieces as finished artworks that can be proudly displayed for years to come. Each piece honours both the child and the wonder of how they see the world.

If you’d like to commission a Fridge 2 Frame artwork, please get in touch to discuss your child’s creations and how we can turn them into something truly special.
